Protein What Should we Eat and How Much

So this was the last week of phase two of the experiment. My conclusions are the same as they have always been. If you want to shed weight you need to change the way you are eating and the cleaner you eat the more weight you will shed. I was taking the new products without changing my food and saw some results. They were a tightening of my skin and feeling thinner when I compared the before and after pictures you can definitely see a reduction in size. There was not a lot of actual weight reduction on the scale. The second phase was to eliminate sugar, wheat, and dairy. This phase netted reduction on the scale and reduction in inches. So again if you are wanting to reduce weight you need to cut out the things that stop you from shedding it. So now on to phase three. This will be not quite as restrictive. But still not going to go nuts and add things I know I should not have back in. My tendency is to clean up my eating and take off a few pounds, feel better and then slowing over time bad things start creeping in and then they creep in more often. This time I actually found a couple of things that I think will help me to stay away from things like chips. We will see how it goes. I am loving the tightening of the skin that I am getting from the collagen product that I am taking.

Today I wanted to talk a bit about protein. What should we eat and how much? Now there are lots of different schools of thought when it comes to how much and what kinds of protein you should be using. These are the conclusions that I have drawn from everything I have read and what I was taught. Now of course you need to take into consideration that everyone is different. I know I keep saying that. But that is because it is true. Each person processes things differently. You can have people that  can’t eat beef because of what their reaction is like stomach upset or worse and then there are those that have no issues eating beef. So for me I always tell my clients to eat the protein they like. The leaner the better as we do need to watch how much fat we are getting. All of my teaching has shown that you should be eating half your weight in grams of protein per day. I have had clients that are vegetarian and use plant based protein as well as those with limited protein likes. Everyone still needs to get that protein however they can. Protein is the building blocks of everything your body does. If we are getting enough protein then our bodies are able to do all the things that we need them to do. Repairs and maintenance. And if we combine this with intermittent fasting we are giving the body the time it needs to do all of those repairs.

So in conclusion, eat half your weight in grams of protein everyday. And try intermittent fasting to help the protein do the work it needs to do.

Tune in next week for more results and more discussion about food.
