Choices Choices The Choices We make When it Comes to Food

So today I want to talk about the choices we make when it comes to food.

When it comes to what we eat we are the ones in control of what we put into our bodies. No one but you decides what you eat or don’t eat. So because it is totally up to us what we put into our bodies then we only have ourselves to answer for the choices we make. If they are good choices or bad choices that is up to us. Many times when I am talking to my clients they will say but I had to, we were at a party and I didn’t want to offend anyone, or everyone else was so I did too. Well that goes back to the old saying if everyone was jumping off a bridge would you. We need to make up our minds that we are doing what we are doing because we want to. No one can make you do something you don’t want to do.

This time of year, it is the end of November when I am recording this, can be very difficult to stick to any eating program. There are always lots of treats around and you may even make some yourself because it is traditional. The thing that you need to remember is that you are in control of your choices. If you choose to have some of the treats that are out, that is your choice and you need to make your choices knowing what the consequences will be.  For some the consequences are worse than for others so you need to know what your body's reaction to that choice will be. Some of the reactions can be that you will not shed any weight that week even if it is only one small treat, for others they can have a few and it stalls your weight. Others may have some gain and there are those that will still shed a few pounds. Like I keep saying everyone is different and you need to figure out what works for you.

For me with the experiment that I am doing I will not be eating outside of my eating window for intermittent fasting however I do have a couple of days this month that I know I will indulge. I do this as a choice knowing that it will slow my reducing but I am ok with that. For me I do not have a reaction to wheat, it doesn't seem to bother my stomach or joints like I know it does for some people, however sugar is an issue for me, it always tastes like more. So I need to be very cognizant of how much sugar I am eating. I do however have the willpower to stick to my eating window so if something is offered to me when I am not eating I am able to say sorry I am not eating just yet. The other thing that I say is that is not on my eating plan.

So in conclusion, you get to decide what you want to eat and what you don’t. It is your choice.
