How Much Water Should we drink

So today I want to tell you all about my results from this week and talk about Water.

So the experiment is still going great. The numbers on the scale continue in a downward trend! Yeah

Still sticking to my 8 hour eating window for my intermittent fasting and definitely not having as many cravings as last week. It gets easier the longer you cut things out. You just need to stick to your guns and say no to the things you know you should not be eating. The longer that you stay away from the things that cause inflammation in the body  the better you will feel also.

Today’s topic is water. Most of my clients dread the “how much water are you getting” question. I have heard people say that it doesn’t matter how much water we drink in a day and I know lots of people that drink little or no water in a day. My belief is that we need to drink half our weight in ounces of water everyday. We are 60% water and we lose water through bodily functions throughout the day. Now we do get water from our food and other beverages that would be how the people that don’t drink any water get theirs.
I tell my clients that they need to drink just plain water. It is the best for your body. It doesn’t need to filter anything out to get to the good stuff. Now if you have a real aversion to water I do tell people that they can try some essential oils in their water to give it a little flavor. Of course, be careful about what type of oil you are using. I have suggestions if you comment below I will tell you about them. I also try to get my clients to stay away from the flavored water as they usually have sugar or a zero calorie sugar substitute in them that is really not good for you.

Many people are actually dehydrated. This can cause all kinds of different symptoms in the body, headache for me is the symptom I experience the most. If I don't get enough water I will get a headache usually it goes away if I drink a lot of water to catch up. It has been reported in a study that it can also cause fatigue, reduce focus and affect short term memory.

The biggest thing about water for me is that it can help to increase metabolism and decrease appetite.  So this is one of the big reasons I promote drinking water. Also many people mistake hunger for thirst. We feel something decide we are hungry and eat something when in fact it was thirst and we could have saved all those calories by just having a glass of water.

So in conclusion, drink half your weight in ounces of water everyday. Make it good clean water.

Tune in next week for more results and more discussion about food.
