Today I want to tell you about some of the different ways of intermittent fasting.
There are many different ways of fasting. I would like to tell you about the main ones that I have experimented with.
For me there is the 12 hr fast which follows your circadian rhythm. I used this when I was taking off my 50 lbs.
There is the 20:4 plan which is 20 hrs of fasting and a 4 hr window to eat. This one for me was too drastic. In the 20:4 plan your body will achieve a different level of healing in the body. So you will definitely get into ketosis and burn fat but you also get into Autophagy which is the process by which the body clears away damaged cells and regenerates new ones.
There are 5 stages of fasting:
- Stage 1 – Ketosis
- Stage 2 – Autophagy
- Stage 3 – Growth hormone
- Stage 4 – Insulin reduction
- Stage 5 – Immune cell rejuvenation
The fast that I do. I fast for 16 and have an eating window of 8hs.
For me this was the best solution. I also take good quality supplements use a protein powder replacement for one meal and use a quality greens product and fibre. This method allowed me to drop 15lbs.
I will be going back on a weight loss phase to shed a few more lbs in the very near future. I will take you all alone on the journey with me and share my tips and I am sure some challenges.
