Welcome—Your Wellness Journey Starts Here
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting health advice, frustrated by another diet that didn’t last or tired of repeatedly starting over, you are in the right place.
I’m Katharine Caines, and it is my mission to empower and support mature women to adopt a healthy lifestyle, achieve their weight-management goals and thrive in every aspect of their lives.
But my work didn’t begin with a perfect plan or an effortless transformation. It grew from my own experience of trying program after program, losing weight and gaining it back again.
For years, I believed I simply needed to work harder, exercise more or find the right diet. During my 21 years in the military, physical activity was part of my everyday life—but even with regular exercise, lasting weight loss remained a struggle.
I estimate that I lost and regained more than 300 pounds over the years, twenty or thirty pounds at a time. Eventually, I realized that sustainable change required more than another set of rules.
A different approach to wellness
My wellness journey began to change when I stopped focusing only on the number on the scale and started looking at the whole picture.
Our relationship with food, mindset, movement, stress and support all influence our ability to create lasting change. When one of those areas is missing, it becomes much harder to maintain the progress we make.
By taking a more holistic and compassionate approach, I lost 50 pounds and, most importantly, learned how to maintain that transformation without living on another restrictive diet.
That experience became the foundation of the work I do today.
My 5-Step Strategy
My approach is built around five essential areas:
Relationship with food
Creating more balanced choices without guilt, extremes or all-or-nothing rules.Psychology of weight loss
Understanding the thoughts, beliefs and habits that influence our choices. An active lifestyle
Finding realistic, enjoyable ways to incorporate movement into everyday life.Stress management
Supporting sleep, energy, emotional well-being and the body’s response to stress.Accountability
Having encouragement, guidance and support so you don’t have to do everything alone.
This isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about making small, consistent changes that work with your body and your real life.
