This weeks topic is self care. It has been coming up in a lot of different ways this week, after talking about cleansing and detox it is also apparent that we need to take care of ourselves from the outside as well as the inside.

So when we talk about self care it is about the things that we do for ourselves that keep us healthy and sane. For me it is my morning routine and the other little things I do during the day to give myself breaks. Do you have a morning routine? Let me know below.
My routine consists of a small workout and stretching usually about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the day. Then I have my bathroom habits, brushing my teeth and hair and cleaning my face and putting oils on my feet. We want to make sure that we are using good quality products that are not putting a lot of chemicals into our bodies. Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs many things so we don’t want to be adding things that make it difficult for our bodies to filter out.
Many people I talk to also add meditation first thing. For me I have tried this and haven’t been successful with it. I do my meditation later in the day and give myself a break from whatever it is I am doing.
Some of the other things that I do to break from work is to stretch or do some blocking which is a way to release tension in the body. I also enjoy a bath with essential oils to calm and release tension. For me another way to relax is by doing needlework or crochet. And there is always playing a game or doing a puzzle. These are just some of the things that I do for me.
I also have a very short evening routine. I do a short meditation and put oils on again.
Self care looks different for everyone. You need to do what works for you, and what makes you feel good. Part of my self care is also doing intermittent fasting, taking the good quality supplements that I take that help my body get all of the things that it needs in a day and the good quality protein and greens and fibre I also use.
